A Needed Preface.
A thesis statement for this little pet project of mine.
It’s prudent to explain myself in this manner, I feel.
In short, I’ll use a term coined by the late George Carlin and call this blog my “brain droppings.” In long… I'll start by noting how few of you have ever heard “in long” despite being equally grammatically correct as “in short.” It’s quite the funny contradiction, no? What creates that kind of divide, between what sounds perfectly correct and is used all the time and what causes that dysphoric revulsion?
Or in short once more, why some things good and used often while other very similar things so very ew yucky bad? This is a field of extremely scientific research that I am absolutely qualified to continue exploring.
The thoughts I share on this page are of the same vein as this “in short/long” discrepancy- the odd thoughts that poke and prod at the edge of my consciousness, ceaselessly turning my every moment into a waking nightmare of utterly fascinating topics that I’d love to spend my whole life dissecting if the nature of their appearance didn’t already exhaust me to the point of wanting to be born again as a fungus. Perhaps I repost the video game reviews I’ve posted on my Backloggd, perhaps I expand upon said reviews or talk about new aspects of those games, perhaps I talk about different media entirely, perhaps I speak on existentialism, or write a set for a stand-up comedy routine that only exists within the confines of this web page for literally no other reason than to push myself in a different direction for ten minutes…
Perhaps it’s all just the thoughts I have. When they strike, and how they strike.
Any amount of support is appreciated, I am SCRAPING by but I don’t wish to force anyone (we’re all broke, I get it), and that my ideas meant something to someone is more than reward enough for me. This is simply the thoughts and scraps scattered around my metaphorical desk, for those who wish to peek over my shoulder and view them.
If you feel like it.
Cheers,
from The CrystalPunk
